The State of Meritorious Good Time (MGT)

Stroll though any one of the State of Illinois’ 27 prisons and inmates will invariably approach to ask, “you hear anything about that good time coming back?” Literally thousands of IDOC inmates would walk out of the gates today if Good Time was reinstated, and thousands more have already maxed out sentences and gone home without it during the suspension period.

House Representative Arthur Turner (D) from the 9th District in Chicago is the sponsor of HB 3899 Regarding Meritorious Earned Good Time Credit. For anyone wanting to call and support the bill: Springfield office # 217.782.8116; Chicago office # 773.277.4700
